Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Antar (“Antar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Antar mobile application, our website at antarvision.com, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). Antar provides AI vision for the trades — point your phone at equipment and get identification and repair guidance.
Antar is operated as a project and is not yet a registered legal entity. We will update this policy with our entity name and registered address once formed. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Camera images and photos
When you point your phone at equipment, the Service captures images — typically of data plates, model numbers, and physical equipment. These images are processed to identify the equipment and generate guidance.
Voice and audio recordings
When you use voice interaction features, the Service captures audio of your spoken questions and the surrounding job-site environment only while voice mode is active. Audio is processed to provide hands-free guidance.
Account information
When account creation is offered, we collect information you provide such as your name, email address, phone number, employer, and role. Some account flows may rely on third-party identity providers (for example, Sign in with Apple), in which case we receive only the information those providers share with us.
Device and usage data
We collect device identifiers (such as advertising identifier and vendor identifier where permitted), IP address, device model, operating system version, app version, language and region settings, crash logs, and product analytics events describing how you use the Service.
Location data
With your permission, we may collect approximate or precise location information to associate diagnostics with a job site, to enable nearby parts and supplier lookups, and for fraud and abuse prevention. You can revoke location access in your device settings at any time.
Diagnostic and repair history
We may store the records of equipment you have scanned, the diagnoses produced, the steps you followed, and the outcomes you recorded. This history is associated with your account when you choose to sync it.
Field service management (FSM) integration data
If you connect Antar to a field service management platform such as Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan, we receive job, customer, equipment, and scheduling information from those platforms as needed to deliver the integration you requested.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service, including AI-powered equipment identification and repair guidance.
- To improve the Service, train and evaluate our models, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Third-party services and AI processing
Delivering AI vision for the trades requires us to share certain information with vetted service providers. We name the providers we use today below. We update this section when we add or change providers.
Google Gemini (AI processing)
Camera images, voice/audio, and the prompts associated with your diagnostic requests may be transmitted to Google’s Gemini API for AI inference. The purpose of this processing is to identify equipment, interpret data plates, generate repair guidance, and power voice interaction. Google processes this data on our behalf in accordance with Google’s applicable terms. The Antar app obtains your explicit, informed consent before sharing personal data with this third-party AI service, as required by the Apple App Store.
Amazon Web Services (cloud hosting)
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host the Service and store operational data (such as account information and synced diagnostic history). AWS acts as our data processor and is bound by contractual obligations to safeguard your information.
Future providers
As the Service grows, we expect to add providers in the following categories: product analytics, crash reporting, authentication, transactional email and SMS, payment processing, and additional FSM integrations. Before we add a provider that meaningfully changes how your data is handled, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, request your renewed consent.
We require all third parties that receive personal information from us to provide the same or equivalent protection of that information as is described in this Privacy Policy. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
4. Legal bases for processing (EU/UK users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the Service you requested.
- Consent — for camera, microphone, location, push notifications, sharing data with third-party AI providers, and any optional features that ask for your permission.
- Legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve our products.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above.
- Camera images and audio used purely for AI inference are processed transiently and are not retained for long-term storage. We may retain short-term copies for safety, abuse prevention, and quality monitoring, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
- Account information and synced diagnostic history are retained for the life of your account, plus a short tail to satisfy legal, audit, and backup obligations.
- Crash logs and analytics events are retained for a rolling window suitable for product improvement.
6. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, and restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account, or use the in-app controls when available.
Account deletion. If you have an Antar account, you can delete it from within the app, which will initiate deletion of the personal information associated with that account, except where retention is required by law. You can also request deletion by emailing us.
Permission controls. You can manage camera, microphone, location, and notification permissions in your device settings. Disabling permissions may limit features of the Service.
7. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share.
- The right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- The right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Categories of information we collect map to those listed in Section 1. We use this information for the purposes listed in Section 2 and disclose it to the categories of recipients listed in Section 3. To exercise a California right, email [email protected].
8. EU and UK residents (GDPR)
In addition to the rights described in Section 6, residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. When personal data is transferred outside of these regions, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized mechanisms.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for adult professional users in the trades and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and infrastructure provided by AWS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International data transfers
Antar is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
